Certification of timber from Prague’s forests

On 1 November 2018 Lesy hl. m. Prahy obtained FSC^® C-o-C and PEFC C-o-C certification for timber from Prague’s forests. That means that when we process timber from Prague’s forests we meet the requirements and standards of these international certificates for processing timber. By meeting the conditions of certification we have joined a production chain that supports sustainable forest management and that gives consumers accurate, verifiable information about processed timber coming from certified, sustainably managed forests.

This certificate confirms that timber from Prague’s forests — certified under both FSC^® and PEFC for several years now — does not lose its value during processing, and that the certification passes from the grown tree to the raw material or product. Among other things, each of our future products will get its own special code, by which we will be able to determine at any time which part of which Prague forest it came from.
