The total area of gardens and parks in Prague is roughly 3,965 ha (as at 31 December 2011), which is about 8 % of the city’s area. The City of Prague owns 2,649 ha of that, of which 229 ha are parks and gardens in the group of sites of city-wide importance. Lesy hl. m. Prahy manage and maintain the tree avenues and parks of city-wide importance on the basis of Prague City Assembly resolution no. 37/11 of 27 March 2014.

Besides these five city-wide parks of the first category, we also look after U Čeňku park and the western part of the Chodov Central Park. Other important Prague parks include Karlovo náměstí, Riegrovy sady, Vyšehrad, Kampa, the Franciscan Garden, Ladronka and Vojanovy sady.
