Joinery work and making play equipment

We also turn wood grown in Prague’s forests into play equipment for children. You can see our work on the playgrounds in Prague’s forests — and you can order the same equipment from us to turn your own garden into a play corner for children.

The joinery workshop of Lesy hl. m. Prahy makes certified play equipment to EN 1176-1:2009. We use wood from Prague’s forests as the material. The surface of the equipment is treated with environmentally friendly varnishes that protect the wood against the weather and ageing. The varnishes are approved for play equipment.

Besides play equipment, the joinery workshop makes wooden garden furniture for use in city parks, kindergartens and for family recreation.

Since 16 October 2020 our joinery has held a product certificate for structural elements of solid wood  and a certificate for structural timber of rectangular cross-section, issued by the Timber Research and Development Institute in Prague.

Sandpit
Material: spruce

Basic dimensions: 2500 mm x 2500 mm
The square ground plan is formed by bolted logs 100–150 mm in diameter in two or three rows above each other. A pentagonal ground plan is also possible at the customer’s request.

See-saw
Material: spruce

Log diameter: 180–220 mm
Parameters: beam length – 4000 mm; post footing – 500 mm; beam height – 980 mm

Swing on a frame
Material: spruce
Coating: Remmers glaze varnish
Overall dimensions: 2750 mm x 3600 mm x 2000 mm
Other parameters: diameter of the supporting logs – 110 mm; diameter of the top log – 170 mm; free fall height – 2300 mm
The frame consists of two supports made of two logs joined into an X. A supporting log for hanging the swing is inserted and fixed into the top opening. The frame is variable.

Snake balance beam

The structure is built from logs 100–250 mm in diameter. The roof is covered with bitumen shingle.

Play towers with a slide
Material: spruce
Coating: Remmers glaze varnish
Two towers joined by a sloping walkway are covered with gable roofs and fitted with fall barriers. They are entered by steps with a handrail and by a ramp with rungs. The slide has a starting handle. A supporting structure for hanging a rope or a swing extends from the side of the taller tower. The length of the slide is to the customer’s wish.

The structure of spruce logs is divided into two sections (6 – 6) of logs. The logs are 80–100 mm in diameter.
