Prague’s forests are the irreplaceable green lungs of the capital. As islands of nature among the city’s buildings they have one important mission, which the Forest Act recognises as well: every day they serve the people of Prague for rest and recreation. They do not grow here so that anyone can make money from their timber. We manage Prague’s forests sustainably according to the forest management plan and to the standards of the international FSC and PEFC certifications. When processing the timber we meet the requirements and standards of those international certificates as well. We renew the forests every year and plant new forest trees on new sites too. The timber we sell comes from occasional tending thinnings and locally limited felling that is necessary for the healthy growth and renewal of the forest stands. We process the timber obtained this way in our joinery and offer it for sale to the general public. From the best assortments we produce joinery and construction timber, and the lower grades we offer as firewood at the gamekeepers’ lodges and in our log-splitting yard. On top of that we return the wood to the places where it is needed — as benches in Prague’s forests, parks and along watercourses, or as wooden play equipment on forest playgrounds.
