When to book a programme

Programmes and tours must be booked at least 14 days in advance.

How many participants should the booking be for?

Minimum numbers of participants for a programme to go ahead (individual arrangements are possible):

  • programmes – at least 15 participants in a group. For programmes outside the Prales Eco-centre we recommend booking 2 groups one after the other.
  • project days (not held at the Prales Eco-centre) – at least 4 classes

II. Primary and secondary schools:

  • project days – at least 4 classes (individual arrangements possible)

III. Special and practical schools:

  • programmes – at least 15 participants
  • project days (not held at the Prales Eco-centre) – at least  4 classes
  • the price for programmes and project days is a flat CZK 50 per participant

How does a programme work?

  • Programmes take place outdoors in nature, using the natural environment of the forest or of the Prales Eco-centre.
  • If a programme is not held at the Prales Eco-centre, we choose the location in consultation with you. A large proportion of the programmes take place in the field; some are also prepared for the classroom.
  • Programmes can run in the morning or in the afternoon. We will adapt the starting time to your needs.
  • While the programme is running, the accompanying teaching supervision is responsible for the pupils. The tutor is responsible for the quality of the programme.

Possible risks of being in the field

Because most of our programmes take place in the field, the binding booking includes confirmation that you have been informed of the possible risks of being outdoors.

While outdoors (forest, meadow, banks of ponds or streams and the like) during an environmental education activity, participants may be exposed to these risks:

  • a falling load (a tree, branches…)
  • slipping, tripping and falling
  • injury from tools and machinery (during planting and the like)
  • insect attack
  • attack by an animal, snake bite
  • overheating or hypothermia

All these risks can be prevented by following health and safety instructions and the set procedures, using insect repellent, having suitable vaccinations, wearing suitable clothing and observing the principles of safe movement outdoors. The instructions of the accompanying staff, which reflect the current situation, must also be followed.
Under Act no. 289/1995 Coll. (the Forest Act), Section 19, entering forest stands is always at your own risk.

Terms for cancelling a booked programme

A booked activity can be cancelled no later than 14 days before the date. For later cancellations we may charge the customer a handling fee of CZK 1,000.

Outdoor environmental education activities can be cancelled on the day itself in bad weather, by phone, an hour and a half before the activity starts. Bad weather here means persistent rain and high wind speeds.
Lesy hl. m. Prahy reserve the right to cancel a booked activity for serious organisational reasons.
You are also welcome to raise any wish, comment or complaint about the delivery and quality of the programmes using the questionnaire form provided with the programmes.
