Kamýk Zoo Corner

The small forest zoo corner in Kamýk Forest is a freely accessible site by the local gamekeeper’s lodge, open all year round. It is part of the Prague Wildlife Rescue Centre and serves as a substitute home for animals with a permanent medical or other disability. Here you will find enclosures for Cameroon goats and Valais goats, and a pheasant aviary. 

The original site was substantially transformed in 2020, when the animal enclosures were rebuilt and enlarged and a new hay barn and machinery facilities were added. After the rebuild the herd of Cameroon goats, which had lived here before, returned, and a small group of “black and white” Valais goats was newly added. Colourful Lady Amherst’s pheasants moved into the pheasant aviary.

The residents of the Kamýk zoo corner are part of our adoption scheme, which allows the rescue centre to raise funds for the care of permanently disabled animals. If you would like to support the centre, you can become the adoptive parent of one of the animals here and help us cover part of the annual cost of their care.
